(from nomination form) Although only 13 years old, Trevor Cobb’s personality, attitude, determination, and heart are much bigger than many adults. In 2011, Trevor was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in his leg. He has had to endure many years of treatments, tests, and surgeries, and all through it, he has had a smile on his face and been confident. Despite missing numerous days of school while undergoing treatement and multiple surgeries, Trevor was able to keep his grades up and had been a role model for his peers. His last surgery resulted in Trevor being declared cancer free! During the last 5 years, any time you see Trevor out in the neighborhood or community, he is a positive role model for his peers and young children. His face always had a smile on it and his positive attitude has been so contagious.

Hancock County (from nomination form): Mary McConnell is the State Director for the Indiana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy where she has worked for 23 years. The Conservancy works with partners to protect the land and waters on which all life depends. Mary oversees a staff of 60 in 8 offices around the state. The Nature Conservancy has protected over 95,000 acres of land in Indiana.
